What is Sub Domain?
A subdomain is a domain that is part of a larger domain. It is a prefix added to the main domain name, separated by a dot (.) For example, if the main domain is “example.com”, a subdomain could be “blog.example.com” or “store.example.com”. This allows for creating separate websites or sections within a website, while still being associated with the main domain.
To create a subdomain in cPanel, follow these steps:
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Scroll down to the “Domains” section and click on “domains.”
- In the “Domains” section, you need to click on “Create a New Domain” button and enter the name of the subdomain you want to create in the “Domain” field (“sub.domain.com”).
- In the “Document Root” field, cPanel will automatically fill in the location where the files for your subdomain will be stored in public_html. You can uncheck it if necessary.
- Click “Submit” to create your subdomain.
Once the subdomain is created, You can now upload your files for the subdomain on the folder specified as Document Root. And also you need to install the SSL Certificate from your cPanel Account.
